To start of this blog, I just want to remind everyone that I realize that coats of arms belonged to a certain person in history, not necessarily to a surname itself. However, If you would like to use a coat of arms that someone with your same last name used, then It's fine in my book. In the United States, there are no laws governing what coat of arms you want to use. To me, Coats of Arms are fun, and this BLOG is not for those stuffy people who want to spew the ANCIENT rules of heraldry. This is a more modern discussion of Heraldry today in the U.S.
